PermaPasture Terms of Use

Version 1.2 · Effective date: 2026-10-01

PermaPasture helps you keep track of land, animals and farm work. Please read these Terms and the Privacy Policy. We ask you to agree expressly to this version before continuing with the account features that require it. Installing an update, opening the app or remaining signed in does not mean that you have agreed.

Effective date: 2026-10-01

1. A personal record book, not official documentation

PermaPasture is a record-keeping aid. It is not an official herd book, breed-registry document, health certificate, proof of ownership or regulatory register. Keep original sale receipts, veterinary documents, medication labels and any records you are required to maintain separately. Check those sources before relying on an app entry for a sale, transport, treatment or compliance decision.

The app does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis or treatment. Consult a veterinarian when an animal’s health or treatment is in question. Withdrawal dates are reminders, not guarantees: verify the actual label for the product you used and follow applicable veterinary directions.

2. Your account and shared homestead

Use your own account and keep your password private. People who belong to the same homestead can see its shared farm records and photos. ADMIN is an account-access management role; OWNER is a farm-management role; MEMBER is a participating role. A role label is not proof of legal ownership of land, animals or another person’s information.

Only add information and images you have authority to share with the homestead. Shared notes and visible photo content can identify a person or place even after the contributor’s account is removed. Do not use the app to present unverified entries as official documentation.

3. Local records, sync and copies you need to keep

The app keeps records on your phone. Supported records sync with the shared service when you are signed in and connected. Unsynced changes may exist only on that phone. Preserve information you need before clearing storage, uninstalling or changing devices.

Settings → Data tools provides limited paddock-boundary GeoJSON and grazing-move CSV reports. These are not a complete homestead or account export and cannot restore the app. There is no in-app backup/restore feature.

A deletion confirmation is not a promise that older recovery backups or copies outside the active service have been erased. Nor is a recovery backup a promise that your records can be restored. Keep independent copies of anything you need to retain.

4. Deleting your account is different from deleting a homestead

Delete my account — leave personally

An eligible ADMIN, OWNER or MEMBER can delete their own account while other members remain. If an ADMIN or OWNER’s departure would leave the others without an ADMIN or OWNER, another manager must be appointed first.

Personal deletion removes your account and sign-in, and removes or replaces known system attribution fields. The shared farm records and photos remain for the other members, including notes and visible photo content you contributed. This is not a promise that every reference to you in shared content is erased. Contact us about personal information that remains in a note or image.

An account with no current homestead can use the account-only path, subject to checks for historical links to shared data. If you are the last account on a homestead, the personal path is not available. Deleting in that situation requires choosing the separate whole-homestead action and reviewing its warnings; the service does not choose it for you.

Delete homestead — a separate action affecting everyone on that farm

An eligible ADMIN can expressly choose this action even when other members remain. The last account on a homestead can also choose it, whether its role is ADMIN, OWNER or MEMBER.

When the server confirms completion, this action removes your account and the selected homestead’s active farm records and live uploaded photo files. Every member loses access to that homestead. Other members’ separate account identities are not deleted merely because they belonged to it. Check with the other members and preserve required records before confirming.

The deletion flow uses separate warnings, account verification, your current password and an exact confirmation phrase. It checks the selected action against the current account and homestead. A personal request must not silently become whole-homestead deletion. A change in the relevant role, homestead name or member roster requires fresh warnings rather than broader permission being inferred.

A request is not always a completed deletion

A request may be accepted while removal of the homestead’s live photo files is still pending. Pending is not complete. If the response is lost or the result cannot be confirmed, deletion may have started or finished. Keep the private request token and check that request’s status instead of submitting again. “Status not found” does not prove that nothing happened.

Server confirmation covers only that request’s active-service scope. Older backups, offline copies on other phones, original photos in a device library, exports and copies held by other people are not automatically erased. Signing out is not account deletion or proof that local files were cleared.

5. Privacy, help and lost access

The Privacy Policy describes account information, shared records, location, photos, diagnostics, notifications and support correspondence. During the U.S.-only closed alpha, Pedro handles privacy and lost-access inquiries at pedropozo@protonmail.com.

If you cannot sign in, email Pedro to start a manual help or deletion inquiry. You do not need to reinstall the app or create another account to send that inquiry. Email is intake, not proof of identity or authority to erase an account or shared homestead. An independent lost-access verification procedure has not yet been established. An irreversible action cannot proceed unless the requester and the permitted scope can be established safely.

Do not email passwords, sign-in codes, access tokens, private deletion-status tokens, identity documents or unnecessary family records. Support messages and contact details are currently kept for alpha follow-up; no fixed retention period has been established.

6. Changes and your choice

We will identify a revised Terms version and ask for an explicit agreement when renewed acceptance is required. Version 1.2 is not accepted merely because the app updates.

Choosing “Not now” does not accept these Terms, delete your account or erase unsynced work on your phone. Account features subject to the new Terms remain unavailable until acceptance is confirmed. You can still read the legal information and seek account or privacy help by email without agreeing to the new version.

Acceptance of these Terms is not consent to every kind of data collection, an Android permission, or authorization to delete anything. Those choices remain separate.

7. Availability, warranties and responsibility

PermaPasture is an alpha service. We cannot promise that it will always be available, that synchronization will always finish, or that every entry or reminder will be error-free. Verify important information against your original records.
